Battery powered speakers can be used in a multitude of situations. Quite often used outside in remote locations where a power outlet isn’t readily available and either needs to be practically silent in operation or used where combustion fumes are not acceptable. Providing no heat or requiring refueling with flammable substances means battery mains inverters are often preferred for council and local events where public may be close.
Battery powered mains supplies are also a good alternative for providing power inside in a factory or building which doesn’t have working electric, for example a new build or in a warehouse where there is generally no requirement for mains outlets.
Power on the go
There have been several situations where we’ve needed to place speakers on small vehicles where a traditional petrol or diesel generator would cause too many fumes or noise where they are used in close proximity to people or animals. Our ecoflow battery inverters and additional battery banks provide hours of use.
A recent event required a vehicle based PA system comprising a similar setup to the picture to the right. It consisted of the following:
3x KV2 EX12 full range speakers
1x small mixing desk
2x hand held radio microphones for announcements.
1x Ecoflow Delta 2 smart battery
The system was running for roughly 4 hours playing music at full volume. Remember each speaker is capable of continuous levels of 127 dB peaking to max 133dB, mounted as a U shape on the back of the vehicle provided clear sound for at least 250 degrees around the vehicle and could be heard comfortably from about 30m.
After the 4 hours of use the system had consumed about 35% battery power leaving plenty of reserve for longer and expandability.
